Chiropractic and Applied Kinesiology

Amy warmly welcomes all members of every family to her Chiropractic Care.  She offers the most up to date progressive techniques, spends time educating her patients on how they can help themselves, provides information and guidance at all stages of care and is extremely popular with patients.

All our staff are trained to understand the severe pain patients can be experiencing when they first visit us and it is our primary aim to see you as quickly as possible and make you more comfortable.

Amy specialises In Family Wellness Care, Sporting Injuries and Peak Performance for Sporting Enthusiasts

Many junior patients present with so-called growing pains, a complete misnomer! Pain is usually a sign there is something wrong, because growing is not a painful process.

If the spine is out of alignment or the feet have fallen arches, the body compensates causing abnormal stresses on bones and tendons, therefore when put under pressure during sporting activities pain is experienced. This can create chronic problems without early intervention.
Amy's second love is in treating equestrian injuries. As an Eventer herself, she knows how important it is to develop the right balance,seat and posture. Even the smallest muscle or skeletal imbalances can affect rider and horse and can prevent achieving their best performance.

Whether you are at the top of your field in your chosen profession, or looking to push to your personal best, your chosen past time and sport can be so much more fufilling if your body is at its peak.

Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology borrows from many different disciplines, using muscle testing as a guide for diagnosis and treatment.

The ancient Chinese observed that every muscle in the body links to a specific organ, gland or acupuncture meridian. Testing the strength of its related muscle reveals the condition of the organ or tissue. Muscle testing helps us find structural, chemical and mental problems in your body. It can also direct us to the best treatment options to restore health.

Finding the Problem

First, we review the history of your complaint. This is followed by a thorough physical examination. Instrumentation and laboratory tests may be needed. Then we analyse your posture, the way you walk, turn and bend. By combining these findings with muscle testing, we develop a unique insight into the underlying cause(s) of your problem.

Resolving the Problem

With an understanding of your problem, we select from a variety of healing modalities, which may include:

   * Chiropractic adjustments
   * Joint mobilization
   * Acupuncture meridian therapy
   * Nutrition supplementation
   * Cranial techniques
   * Muscle rehabilitation

As the discipline of Applied Kinesiology has been refined, it has broadened to include the evaluation of vascular, lymphatic systems and cerebrospinal fluid circulation.

"I know how hard it is for new Mums to navigate the medical maze with their new baby. Many parents are looking for  a natural approach which is often less stressful than traditional interventions for problems such as feeding difficulties, excessive crying or even just concerns that the mother may have after a difficult birth. It's good to remember that the body is extremely clever and can often get better naturally, even if it needs a bit of help sometimes." - Amy
